Master List of Students

I revised the Master List this month (rev_12-08) with additional data fields and they are included here. I'll be curious to get your thoughts about the added points. I also include a new document I've used in my preservice class to assist in understanding the data analysis. I'll use these in my January 2009 training.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MAY CHOOSE TO USE THE MASTER LIST YOU ALREADY HAVE or this new one. Please don't feel that you have to redo a ML if you have completed one already. At some sites, we are offering the option of using the two new fields and they are deciding on a site by site basis. Since those field, district wide assessment, and informal reading inventory results, are of keen interest to many districts, sites are deciding to add them.
This whole Master List process is made easier if sites can get them into electronic format, rather than have them filled out by hand. Updating and making changes is much easier in electronic format.

I've added a few samples from sites that have revised the Master List to meet their own needs. Garland ISD (TX) put their Master List in ExCel to make it searchable. The Georgia Academy for the Blind (GAB) designed their Master List to provide them with data they were not collecting in any other way. The Kansas State School for the Blind designed four master lists to accommodate a variety of populations: infants, outreach, school campus, and life skills. All complete the first "universal" form, then a second page designed for each population. The selection of fields for the Master List is a critical topic and the QP Facilitator should be involved in the selection process. Remember that the data from the Master List will be represented in graphic format for ease of presentation and understanding.

ML / ECC data sheet-4/07

This new Master List of Students contains two new fields to allow for collecting information on "district wide assessment" performance for students and "informal reading inventory" information that will be useful inaddressing literacy and learning media issues. Note that there are new instruction sheets posted for both of these forms.
