DELAWARE COUNTY INTERMEDIATE UNIT #25 PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS (Morton, PA)

The DCIU Vision Program provides services for Delaware County students age 3-21, who are blind or visually impaired. Itinerant vision support is provided in areas of visual efficiency, braille, self-advocacy, social interaction, independent living skills, orientation and mobility, technology, material adaptations and organizational skills.

Services provided include functional vision assessment, learning media assessment, orientation and mobility, (instruction enables students who are visually impaired to travel safely efficiently and with maximum independence in the home, school and community settings), interpretation of medical information, consultation with school personnel, braille instruction, instruction in visual efficiency, technology support and Clinical Low Vision Evaluations.
