FLORIDA IMCVI - BUILDING LOCAL CAPACITY - CENTRAL FLORIDA

On October 25 & 26, 2010 the 21 TVIs, COMS, & VI Program Coordinators/Contact People from 9 counties in Central Florida gathered at the Sanford, Florida FDLRS Office to begin the third statewide training in Building Local Capacity. Representatives from Brevard, Seminole, Osceola, Suwanee, Volusia, Hernando, Jackson, Flagler & Marion attended the training, which draws heavily from the QPVI program improvement process. At this first of three sessions scheduled this year, participants learned how to complete a Florida Master List of Students (VI database), how to use the Essential Assessment Rubric and the Looking to Learn components to establish standards of practice and uniformity of practice in conducting their Functional Visual Assessments.
